Rule NO 1

If you decide to mess up,

You know, if it’s the last thing you’d do

Do it so bad so everyone will wonder how that’s even possible.

Be like the prodigal son…

Or Worst still, the prodigal daughter.

You’re not useless.

You can still be used as an example of what not to be.

Let’s face it, there are people leading ordinary lives.

They can never serve as an example for anything.

Walking on Egg Shells when they speak…

Too careful not to say wrong things

Never taking chances because of fear of making mistakes.

Paralyzed by Apprehension.

Silenced by Shame

Crippled by Guilt,

They struggle silently due to fear;

Fear of being judged,

Fear of being misunderstood,

Fear of being stigmatized.

So they choose the humbleness of Silence.

And like a closed book, their stories are never read.

But the way I see it, there are no mistakes in life.

All we have are lessons

Necessary lessons on the journey of growth and self-discovery.

This Mental Health Awareness month, I’m giving you permission to mess up…

To be the “prodigal daughter” who blazes her own trail, unafraid of the occasional pitfall.

Because the truth is, the people who are truly living are the ones who are willing to take risks, try new things, and bounce back from their mistakes.

So go ahead, be bold.

Swing for the fences if you may,

Even if you strike out a few times

After all it’s May,

And May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

This Month, give yourself permission to be perfectly imperfect.

You see, the process of failing, reflecting, and growing is where the real magic happens.

And you never know – your biggest “mess up” might just end up being the thing that inspires others to take that crucial first step.

The journey is what matters most

To freeing yourself.
